Joy Lynn Archer, 57 of Ranger, passed away Monday April 29, 2024 in Ranger. The family will hold a memorial service Sunday May 5, 2024 at 9:45am at the Majestic Theatre of Eastland.
Joy was born January 3, 1967 in Odessa to Alton Lee “Chili” Sharp and Doris Dugan Sharp. She graduated from Eastland High School and Cisco cosmetology school. She married Brian Lynn Archer on June 7, 1986 in Ranger. She was a hairdresser for many years until she found her true calling as an activity director for the elderly. She recently worked as the Activity Director at the Woodlands Assisted Living. She had a great passion for crafts of all sorts. Joy was known by many other names. Her favorite and most proud of being Nan or Nana. She was loved by many and loved passionately. This was evident in her love for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and 3 brothers, Jerry, Donnie, and Robbie Sharp.
Survivors include her husband, Brian Archer; son, Bryan Archer and wife Stephanie; daughter, Courtney Burns and husband Justin; 2 sisters, Judy Wheat and husband Mark, and Janie Bishop and husband Dale; brother, Robert Sharp; 6 grandchildren, Anthony Archer, Brycen Turnbow, Brynlee Turnbow, Averie Burns, Kara Burns, and Wremi Burns.
