It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Ray "Pete" Brown, who left us peacefully on October 26, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on September 12, 1938, in Eastland, TX, Pete lived a life rich in love and family, deeply rooted in the very community he cherished. He was the beloved son of Charlie Andrew and Annie Dell (Walker) Brown.
Pete found joy in simple pleasures, from boating and fishing to attending auctions with his beloved wife, El Dora Fleming, whom he married on July 31,1959. A dedicated metal worker by trade, he took great pride in his craft and demonstrated the value of hard work throughout his life. His passion for family was evident as he lovingly raised his sons in Ft. Worth, Texas, where he instilled important values that will carry on through generations.
As a devoted member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Ranger, Pete found strength and camaraderie in his faith community. He was known for his vibrant spirit, an infectious laugh, and an unparalleled green thumb that resulted in the best-looking yard on the block. Friends and family will fondly remember his generous heart, love for football and NASCAR, and the countless stories shared around the family table.
Pete is survived by his loving son, Danny Brown of Richland Hills; six cherished grandchildren, Trent Wayne Jr., Barbara Lorraine, Heather, Bryce, Danielle, and Destiny; as well as eight great-grandchildren, Skye, Hannah, Lane, Brooke, Jordan, Taylor, Andrew, and Grayson. His legacy will continue to live on in each of them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Annie Brown; his beloved wife, El Dora Brown; a son, Trent Wayne Brown; and siblings, including Lo Neta Reser, Nelda Cotterell, Rayford Brown, Charles Brown, and Dolly Walton.
In honor of Pete's remarkable life, funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 12:00 noon at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland, with Bro. Gustanson officiating. Interment will follow at Eastland City Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM, allowing family and friends to gather in remembrance of a beloved father, grandfather, and friend.
Pallbearers will include Lane Chancellor, Trent (TJ) Brown Jr., Ronnie Keough, Dewayne Marlow, John Robertson, and Bryce Brown. Together, we will celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Though Pete may have departed this earth, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
