Celebrating the life of a remarkable woman, Donna Suzanne Teichman, 82, who graced this world from April 15, 1943, until her peaceful passing on July 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Medical City Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Born in San Diego, California, Donna was a cherished daughter of Harry Doyle and Dortha Sue (James) Roye.
On September 7, 1963, Donna united in marriage with Ronald Hugo Teichman at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Dodson Prairie, creating a bond that would endure for over six decades. Donna pursued her passion for knowledge, earning a bachelor's degree from North Texas State University before dedicating her life to being proud military wife while Ron was in the US Air Force, a loving mother, bookkeeper at the family gas station and part time United States Postal Service carrier in Gordon, Texas. However, it was her primary role as a loving mother and homemaker that she treasured the most.
After living in multiple places around the country during military service, Ron and Donna settled down in Gordon, Texas. She became a devoted member of St. John's Catholic Church in Strawn, Texas, and actively participated in her community as a member of the Gordon Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Her creative spirit shone brightly through her beloved hobbies of quilting and sewing. Donna poured her heart into crafting quilts for each of her six grandchildren and lovingly fashioned her own clothing and doll accessories as a child.
Donna found immense joy in the little things - birdwatching, especially for hummingbirds, and savoring the beauty of sunsets from the porch of her and Ronald's lake house. She and Ronald shared countless Saturday nights dancing together, filling their home with laughter and joy. Known affectionately as "Nana" by her family, a title bestowed upon her by her oldest grandchild, she embraced this role with open arms.
Donna's family, her greatest pride, includes her beloved husband Ronald of Gordon, their son Stephen Teichman and wife, Christy of Willow Park, daughters Amy Floyd and husband William of Gordon, Kelly McCarty and husband, Harrold of DeLeon, and Carrie Teichman of Balch Springs, and her six adoring grandchildren: Viktoria Teichman, Hayden McCarty, Jacob Teichman, Ryan Teichman, Kenna McCarty, and Kylie Hite. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Tracey Teichman.
As we gather in celebration of Donna's extraordinary life, the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Dodson Prairie with Father Christopher Colombus officiating. Following the service, Donna will be laid to rest at Dodson Prairie Cemetery, where her memory will forever be cherished.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 5:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn.
Honoring Donna as pallbearers will be Stephen Teichman, Jacob Teichman, Ryan Teichman, William Floyd, Harrold McCarty, and Hayden McCarty. The honorary pallbearers are Viktoria Teichman, Kenna McCarty, and Kylie Hite.
In celebration of a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories, we invite all whose hearts she touched to join us in honoring the legacy of Donna Suzanne Teichman. Her spirit will continue to inspire us all.
