Fred Stallings

Freddie Jack "Fred" Stallings, a beloved husband, father, and Papaw, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on October 7, 1942, in Dallas, TX, to Jack and Martha (Hutchison) Stallings. He proudly graduated as the Salutatorian of Strawn High School's class of 1960, laying the foundation for a life marked by hard work and dedication.

Fred married the love of his life, Linda Boyd, on March 7, 1964, in Strawn, TX. Together, they built a beautiful family, and he is survived by his devoted wife, Linda, their cherished daughter, Shan Nowak, and his beloved grandchildren, Hannah and Kyle Nowak. Fred's family was his greatest treasure, and he deeply cherished every moment spent with them.

Fred spent many fulfilling years as a foreman at Brazos Electric, where his remarkable ability to fix anything was well known. Outside of work, he found joy in riding bicycles and enjoyed old cars. A curious spirit, Fred loved exploring the internet on his computer, always eager to learn and engage with the world around him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Strawn, with Pastor Eric Nowak officiating, assisted by Rev. Michael Orsini. Interment will follow at Mt. Marion Cemetery in Strawn. Family and friends are invited to come and pay their respects during the viewing, which will take place all day on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn.

Pallbearers are: Craig Abbott, Ray Ratliff, Kyle Nowak, Lorenzo Garcia, Amos Mallory, Trey Hodgkins, Vic Ayson and Harrison Nowak.

Honorary pallbearers are: Danny Miller, David Abney and Charles Box.

Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Martha Stallings; his son, Scott Stallings and son-in-law, Brad Nowak.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Strawn Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 581, Strawn, TX 76475 or at the Clear Fork Bank in Strawn.
