Jerry Frank Miller

It is with both sadness and joy that we announce the passing of Jerry Frank Miller, aged 84, who transitioned into eternal life on September 26, 2026, at his home in Carbon, TX, surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 10, 1942, in Abilene, TX, to James Franklin and Dorothy Mae (Hutson) Miller, Jerry lived a full and vibrant life, punctuated by his deep love for family, laughter, and the great outdoors.

A dedicated barber for over 45 years, Jerry built his career bringing joy and confidence to his clients. He found companionship and love later in life when he married Maija Kaarina Hirvonen Frantel on February 28, 2020, holding dear their time together. A proud member of the Baptist faith, Jerry's unwavering spirit and kindness touched everyone he met.

Jerry was passionate about fishing and hunting, consistently reveling in the beauty of nature. His love for vintage cars and dancing in his younger days filled his heart with happiness. He also shared a special bond with his beloved spaniel dogs and cherished every moment spent with family during gatherings and reunions. Always ready with a joke, Jerry had an infectious spirit that brightened any room.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Maija Frantel; a loving daughter, Sharon Bisset and her husband, Randy of Haltom City; step-son, Patrick Mansikka from Ontario, Canada; his beloved siblings, Andrea Rister and Melanie Jones, and brother Mike Miller and wife, Jeanette; along with four grandchildren, Jeremy Watts, Shawna Bennett and husband, John, Kimberly Heffernan, and Mackenzie Crane; five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry on his legacy of joy and love.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin and Dorothy Miller; daughter, Tammy Crane; son, Jon Miller and sister, Diane Stanfield.

A celebration of Jerry's remarkable life will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation starting at 10:00 AM, an hour prior to the service. Following the funeral, Jerry will be laid to rest at Hamby Cemetery in Abilene at 3:00 PM.
