Johny Bob King

Johny Bob King, 82, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026.

Born in Ranger, Texas, August 31, 1943, to F.R. "Johny" King and Opal Carter King, Johny Bob graduated from Ranger High School. He grew up in Ranger loving to explore the family ranch, where he thoroughly enjoyed fishing and hunting. He later moved to Mineral Wells where he worked for Mitchell Gas as a measurement technician and later retired.

He is survived by his two daughters, Bridgett Smith and husband Thom of Ft. Worth, and Paula Pate of Early; grandchildren, Reid Smith and wife Kaitlin of Weatherford, Payton Smith of Fort Worth, and Jordyn Pate of Early; great-grandchildren, Austyn Smith and Hattie Smith both of Weatherford; sister, Sherry King Warren of Stephenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, TX on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. A service to honor Johny Bob's life will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger at 11:00 a.m.
