June D. Brawner

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of June Demaris

Rainwater Brawner. She left this world suddenly after a long and healthy life at 101.

June was born on June 1, 1924 in Formosa, Arkansas to Eva Phillips Rainwater and Mark Louis Rainwater.

June married the love of her life, Fonzo Brawner in San Antonio, Texas

on October 4, 1946. They were married for 51 years, until his death in 1997. They raised two sons, Greg and Gary while traveling the world as Fonzo served in the Navy. They were stationed in many beautiful countries,

Japan, Hawaii, Philippines, Germany, Puerto Rico and Guam.

After retirement they settled in Grand Prairie, Texas where they were very active in the senior center there, square dancing, traveling and putting on plays. June made may life long friends at the center. She was also active in Calvary Baptist church in Grand Prairie.

June moved to The Woodlands to live with her son and daughter in law at the age of 94.

June is preceded in death by her husband, Fonzo, her parents, Eva and Mark and her three siblings Mark Rainwater, William Rainwater and Vila Hudson.

She is survived by her two sons Greg and his wife Sandy, and Gary and his wife Norma. Three grandsons David Brawner and his wife Shanda and his two children Nicklaus and Anthony, Col. Timothy Brawner USAF and his wife Barbara and their children Ally, John, Sarah and Emily, and Daniel Brawner and his wife Abby and their children Hudson, Weston, Amelia and Caison. Two step grand daughters, Amy Conner and her husband John and their children Victoria and Zachary, and Dr. Andrea Robledo PHD.

"Sweet Grandma June" had a spirit that will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be missed.

Funeral services for June will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 1:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, TX. Interment will follow at Merriman Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
