Lonnie Dale Baker, age 69, left this world peacefully on September 18, 2025, surrounded by loving family. Born on October 4, 1955, in Odessa, TX, to Eldon and Louise (Everett) Baker, Lonnie filled his life with warmth, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Growing up in Odessa, Lonnie later pursued higher education at college in Nacogdoches, TX, and the University of Texas in Austin. He dedicated many years of his life to construction work, a field where his skilled hands and dedication made a meaningful impact until his retirement. A man of strong faith, Lonnie expressed his beliefs as a devoted member of the Baptist community.
In 2008, he moved to Eastland County, where he brought joy to his new neighbors and friends. Known for his love of garage sales, he found great pleasure in helping with estate sales at Dal-San Antiques and Estate Sales. Lonnie had an adventurous spirit, enjoying cruises and celebrating life's little moments with friends and family. His passion for college football brought him joy as he cheered on his favorite teams.
The family will commemorate Lonnie's life with a private memorial service, celebrating the love he shared and the joy he brought to others. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home.
Lonnie is survived by his beloved brother, James Baker, and sister-in-law, Linda, of Eastland, TX; brother-in-law, Timothy Bickerstaff of Ranger, TX; and two cherished nieces and their families, along with a host of wonderful friends who knew and loved him.
Lonnie is reunited in spirit with his father, Eldon Baker; mother, Louise Huggins; and sister, Mary Bickerstaff. As we celebrate Lonnie's life, may we remember the joy he brought to our lives and carry his spirit with us always.
