Lynn Peary Talley

Lynn Talley was born in Rice, Texas to Perry Grover Talley and Myrtle Owens on October 11, 1932. Perry had several occupations; carpenter, Army infantry, sharecropper and his first love, fisherman. Lynn and his sister, Doris were carried all over Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Mexico just to make a living as those were very hard times.

In 1947 Lynn entered Smyer Texas Independent School District and from there he entered the U.S. Air Force where he attended Photo School in Denver, CO. He also finished his G.E.D. High School level in the Air Force. On November 4, 1954, Lynn was honorably discharged from the Air Force with a rank of Airman First Class.

On March 24, 1956, he married Emma Joyce McCurry in Lubbock, Texas. Their son, Greg, was born in 1957. Lynn went to work for National Cash Register Company and spent 38 years servicing and repairing the NCR product line.

He and Emma retired on their farm just south of Carbon, Texas.

He is survived by son, Greg Talley and wife Janet, Grandson Trevor Talley, Granddaughter Emily Morton and husband Cory and two great granddaughters JoLee and Emma Jane.

Also, he had a special friend in later years, Sarah Stone.
