Manuel Alanis

Dec 17, 1958 — May 21, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Manuel Alanis, age 67, of Ranger, Texas, who passed away peacefully after a long and courageous seven-year battle with brain cancer. Manuel was born in El Clarin, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Epifanio Alaniz and Aurelia Eguia Alanis, who both preceded him in death.

Manuel was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He dedicated his life to his family and was known for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and caring nature. He was a devoted Catholic whose faith guided the way he lived and treated others. Manuel found happiness in the simple things in life; such as caring for his farm animals, listening to music, and creating lasting memories with his children and grandchildren. He especially treasured spending summers and Christmases in his hometown in Mexico, surrounded by loved ones and family traditions.

He was preceded in death by his son, Aurelio Alanis; his grandson, Angel Alanis; his sisters, Raquel Alanis and Maria de Jesus Alanis; and his parents, Epifanio and Aurelia Alanis.

Manuel leaves behind his beloved wife, Catalina Alanis; his children, Valentin Alanis, Juan Alanis, Samuel Alanis, and Maria Alanis; his grandchildren and great-grandson; along with his siblings and many nieces and nephews who will continue to cherish his memory.

Manuel will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his faith, kindness, humility, and the unconditional love he shared with everyone around him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.

Visitation services will be held at Edwards Funeral Home on Monday the 25th and Tuesday the 26th. A Rosary will be held at the funeral home at 6pm on Tuesday the 26th.
