Mildred Jennell Barrow

Mildred Jenelle (McClung) Barrow, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, will be fondly remembered following her passing on September 24, 2026, at the age of 100. Born on January 2, 1926, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Lee and Virginia McClung, Jennie grew up in Hillsboro, Texas where she formed her lifelong devotion to family and friends.

On December 23, 1943, Jennie married T.J. Barrow in Hillsboro, Texas, and together they created a close loving family. Jennie spent the majority of her life in West Texas, residing in Midland, Texas for thirty years. While in Midland she owned an insurance agency and later was employed by several community banks, serving in multiple banking operations. After a fulfilling career, she retired in 2001 and moved to Eastland, Texas.

Jennie's greatest joy revolved around her family, and she especially loved holidays, family trips, and family reunions. Known for her extraordinary coconut pies and peach cobblers-crafted entirely from memory-her baking talents were matched only by love for her pets.

A devoted member of the Church of Christ, Jennie worshipped with the Westside Church of Christ in Midland and later with the Daugherty Street Church of Christ in Eastland, Texas. When failing health prevented attendance at services, she appreciated weekly services conducted at The Woodlands Assisted Living facility by Daugherty Street Church of Christ. Jennie often enjoyed viewing various televised Bible studies.

Graveside services celebrating Jennie's life will be held Friday, October 2, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery in Midland, Texas. Bill Culverhouse of Eastland will officiate this expression of faith that honors a life well-lived. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home - Eastland.

Jennie is survived by her three sons: Martin Lee Barrow Sr and wife Martha of Forney, Texas; Tommy Joe Barrow and wife Alice of Graford, Texas, and Johnny Mack Barrow and wife Carla of Midland, Texas. She took immense pride in her six grandchildren: Joe Barrow and wife Melissa of Breckenridge, Texas; Martin Lee Barrow Jr and wife Louise of Norfolk, Massachusetts; Nathan Barrow and wife Lucy of Forney, Texas; Mike Barrow and wife Mandy of Bourne, Texas; Kelli Davis and husband Brian of Midland, Texas; Brad Barrow and wife Lindy of Midland, Texas. Fourteen great grandchildren who loved their "Nannie": Brenna Jenelle Ritchey, Cadence, Trip, Jett, Thomas, James, Elizabeth, Merrick, Myron, Conner and Samuel Barrow, Brewer, Lyla, and Porter Davis.

Jenelle was preceded in death by her loving husband, T.J. Barrow; her parents, Lee and Virginia McClung; her siblings, Raymond McClung, Harold McClung, Mary Frances Harvey, Edith Wiley, and Burhl McClung; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Judy and Craig Lewis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Foster's Home for Children at 1779 N. Graham Street, Stephenville, Texas 76401.

Jennie's family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Greystone Park in Jacksboro, Texas and Palo Pinto Nursing Center in Mineral Wells, Texas for their compassionate care.
