Patricia Bowles

Patricia Ann Bowles, age 86, was born on December 30, 1938, in Girard, Texas, to L.A. and Vida Gilbert. She went to be with her Savior and Lord on December 25, 2025, while residing at Eastland Nursing Center in Eastland, Texas.

A resident of Eastland since 1969, Pat was well known in the community for her strong work ethic and friendly nature. She managed the S&H Green Stamp Store for 15 years, followed by 18 years of service at Walmart. During her time at Walmart, she especially enjoyed working in Customer Service, where she found great joy in helping others and visiting with the many people she met. Pat never met a stranger and took pride in making others feel welcome.

Pat lived a life rooted deeply in faith and family. She was an active and devoted member of Merriman Baptist Church, where she faithfully served the Lord in many ways. She was a member of the Good News Club for many years, where she lovingly taught an after-school program to younger children, sharing her faith and positively impacting many young lives. Her devotion guided her throughout her life, and she will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

She was a proud Texas Rangers fan and enjoyed cheering on her favorite team. Above all, Pat treasured time spent with her family, and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren when they came to visit "Nanny".

She is survived by her brother, Joe Cal Gilbert and wife LaVonna (Eastland); children, Greg Bowles (Jonesboro), Brady Bowles (Ranger), Sammye Townsend and husband Skip (Graford), and Shane Bowles (Eastland); eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.A. and Vida Gilbert; her beloved husband of 65 years, Gene Bowles; a grandson, Aaron Bowles; and her daughters-in-law, Sherri Graham Bowles, Anna Bowles, and Della Bowles.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at The Woodlands for their love, compassion, and care over the past 3 years.

Patricia will be deeply missed, but her legacy of faith, love, service, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Service will be held Tuesday, December 30th, at 1:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland, Texas with Brother Jim Lang officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM before the service. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
