Ramona Jean (Sewell) Conner

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ramona Jean (Sewell) Conner, 95, who departed this life on Friday, July 3, 2026, in Eastland, TX, surrounded by the love of her family. Ramona was born on December 28, 1930, in Blevins, AR, to Cecil W. and Zula (Wardlow) Sewell. She was united in marriage to Robert Harding Conner, Sr. on March 9, 1950, in Dallas, TX, embarking on a journey together that spanned nearly six decades until his passing in 2009.

Ramona dedicated her life to her family and her work as a Medical Technologist after earning her bachelor's degree from Ouachita Baptist University, she worked for Dr. Walkins and Dr. Gohlke in Ranger, TX as a Lab and X-Ray technologist for many years. She was a cherished member of the Olden Baptist Church and actively participated in The Order of the Eastern Star. In her free time, Ramona found joy in tending to her garden, participating in Texas Hold'em tournaments, dancing, and nurturing her beloved chickens. The holidays were particularly special to her, as she cherished large family gatherings that brought everyone together.

Ramona leaves behind a loving family, including two sons, Jerry A. Conner and his wife, Karen, of Olden, and Tim W. Conner and his wife, Raylene, of Graford; a devoted daughter, Cecile Reatherford and her husband, Blain, of Breckenridge. She was a proud grandmother to Kim Conner, Courtney Basinger and her husband, Ryan, Chelsea Conner, Robert Lucero and Christina Lucero, Nicole Garza and her husband, Rudy, Wendy Daugherty and her husband, Eric, Chris Perrin, Shelbi Valdez and her husband, Carlos, and Heather Doty and her husband, Will; and a great-grandmother to Garrett Conner, Tanner Weeaks, Madison Basinger, Carson Fain, Corbyn Perrin, Bradyn Valdez, Avery Valdez, Zenaida, Everette, and Everlee Garza and Bentley Doty.

Ramona was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert H. Conner, Sr.; her parents, Cecil and Zula Sewell; and her son, Robert H. Conner, Jr.

In honoring her remarkable life, funeral services for Ramona will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Edwards Funeral Home - Eastland, with Patrick Frishe officiating. Interment will follow at Eastland City Cemetery. A visitation will be conducted on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
