With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Stanley Wayne Reed, age 85, who departed this life on May 2, 2026. A devoted son, father, and friend, Stanley's memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
Stanley was born on November 16, 1940, in Ranger, Texas, to Lawrence Brewer Reed and Dessie Leona Williams Reed. After completing his high school education, he embarked on a commendable career, initially working as a roustabout in the oilfields and later contributing his expertise in pipeline construction with Moylan Construction. Ultimately, he established his own business, Stanley Reed, Inc., through which he demonstrated his dedication and craftsmanship within the construction industry.
Stanley's legacy is upheld by his beloved family, including his son, Paul Reed; his daughter, Katherine Ann Shahan and her husband, David; and his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Michelle Bartholomew and husband Tanner and Darrin Shahan and wife Takiya, Elizabeth Henderson and husband Spencer, Tiffany and Matthew McMenamy, Kennedy, Adam and Emma Bartholomew, Reyna Shahan, Tara Reed and daughter Evelyn, Penny and Joseph Jackson, and Jackson Reed, who will carry forward his spirit and values.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert Reed; brothers Hugh Paul, Windell Delbert (Cotton), and Lawrence; and sisters Darlene and Lavine.
A graveside service will be held in his honor at Eastland City Cemetery on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The service will provide an opportunity for family and friends to gather, reflect, and celebrate Stanley's life. Prior to the graveside services, visitation will begin at noon on May 9th at Edwards Funeral Home, allowing loved ones to share their condolences and memories.
As we gather to remember Stanley Wayne Reed, let us honor a life well-lived and the indelible impact he had on all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will live on in the love of his family and the memories shared by friends and community.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ranger Care Center who took such great care of him in his final days.
