Steve Hallmark

May 29, 1959 — May 14, 2025

Steve Hallmark, 65, of DeLeon, Texas, and most recently of Putnam, passed away on May 14, 2025. His beloved wife was by his side, holding his hand.

Born on May 29, 1959, Steve lived a life full of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for his family-especially his beloved grandbabies. Mornings were a familiar rhythm for him: a grumble at the news, a hot cup of coffee in hand, and a heart full of gratitude for another day.

For the last 18 years, Steve worked as a maintenance manager-a role he approached with reliability, dedication, and pride. He was the kind of man people could count on, always ready to lend a hand or solve a problem with calm confidence. His work ethic and know-how earned him respect, and his willingness to show up, no matter what, spoke volumes about his character and strength.

He had a sweet tooth and a sweeter soul. No family gathering felt complete without a cake-because Steve believed that every occasion, big or small, deserved a little celebration. He was hilarious - full of dramatic flair and the kind of humor that left people in stitches. Whether he was telling a story, making a joke, or just reacting to everyday life, he had a way of making people laugh. His larger-than-life personality brought fun into every room he entered.

On April 22, 2023, Steve married his best friend and partner, and together they built a home and a bond grounded in faith and devotion. That faith remained unshaken, even as he battled cancer with courage and grace. "I have an unshakable faith in the Lord," he often said-and he meant it. His peace in the face of uncertainty was a testimony to the strength of his spirit and the depth of his belief.

Steve's life will be honored at a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, May 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lumberyard Event Center in Eastland, Texas. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and share in remembering the man who touched so many lives.

Steve Hallmark will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Hallmark; daughters, Ciarra Clary (Blake), and Kaytie Sharp (Tyler); 8 grandchildren, Dane Porter, Bricelynn Clary, Judson Clary, Addison Clary, Zaelynn Sharp, Layken Sharp, Sierra Hodnett, and Alexis Borchard; great-grandson, Oliver Hodnett; and sister, Linda Singleton.
