Verne Milton Boston

Verne Milton Boston, 65, passed away in April 2026 in St. Amant, Louisiana, on the Island where he spent his final years. He was born on October 21, 1960, in Ranger, Texas, grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and spent much of his adult life in Tampa, Florida, before returning home to Louisiana.

Verne built a career as a salesman - a natural fit for a man who was friendly, rough around the edges, and never short on stories. He had a way of finding common ground with just about anyone, and the people who crossed his path tended to remember him.

At every family gathering, Verne was behind the grill or the smoker, turning out meats that were nothing short of legendary. He cooked without recipes and without fuss - just raw talent and a passion for feeding the people around him.

Verne is survived by his mother, Lorena Fern Hill; his son, Dylan Boston Nunez, and Dylan's husband, Francis Nunez. He was preceded in death by his sister, Maureen Cabral, and his grandparents, George and Nellie Gordon.

Graveside services for Verne will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Mount Marion Cemetery, Strawn, TX. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home-Strawn.
